PRIMED already includes over 85 individuals in two sub-networks. The monitoring network incorporates wildlife health detection into existing programs (e.g. State Fish and Wildlife, National Parks Service, MARINe, PISCO). The response network is able to rapidly mobilize and can draw upon resources of members (e.g. UCD Wildlife Health Center, USGS Western Fisheries Research Center). Broad expertise of PRIMED members covers 1) the ecology & environment, 2) diagnostics and 3) the mitigation & remediation. PRIMED members come from diverse entities in research and management including universities, state and federal agencies, NGOs, zoos, aquariums and museums, Native American and First Nations entities, and other stakeholders. We are currently focused on the US and Canadian West Coasts.
